IMS Group USA and Tiber Pack Bring Award-Winning Nicetuck™ Sustainable Case Packing Technology to North America

Patented glue-free, tape-free case packing system eliminates adhesives from secondary packaging while reducing energy consumption, maintenance, and environmental impact.

IMS Group USA, in partnership with Italian packaging machinery manufacturer Tiber Pack, is bringing a new approach to sustainable secondary packaging to North American manufacturers with Nicetuck™, a patented automatic case-packing system that eliminates the need for hot-melt glue and adhesive tape.

Rather than replacing one adhesive with another, Nicetuck eliminates adhesives altogether. Its innovative die-cut case design and mechanical locking technology create a strong, secure package using corrugated material alone—helping manufacturers reduce the environmental and operational impact associated with traditional case sealing.

The impact extends beyond the adhesive itself. A traditional case-packing line can consume approximately 5,000 to 15,000 kg of adhesive annually, while hot-melt systems can require an additional 12,000 to 15,000 kWh of electricity each year. By eliminating hot-melt equipment, Nicetuck removes that energy demand along with the purchasing, transportation, storage, cleaning, and maintenance associated with adhesive systems.

The result is a packaging solution designed to deliver sustainability improvements without sacrificing the strength and performance required throughout distribution. Nicetuck cases have successfully undergone shipping and compression testing, demonstrating their ability to withstand the demands of transportation and handling.

Innovation Through Partnership

Nicetuck was developed by Tiber Pack, an Italian packaging machinery manufacturer with more than 50 years of experience designing automated end-of-line systems. Through its partnership with Tiber Pack, IMS Group USA is bringing the technology to manufacturers throughout North America, providing local application expertise, demonstrations, integration, installation, and ongoing support.

The technology has already earned international recognition for its approach to sustainable packaging, receiving the Best Packaging 2025 Award in Technology and Innovation and a 2026 WorldStar Packaging Award.
